Review of Ted (2012) by John L — 25 Jun 2015
Adding another movie to the 'endless gag' pile, Ted offers a choice selection of humor that works, but only if it remains consistent! A novel concept and some stellar acting all around, the film delivers on moments of eye watering pleasure, the foul-mouthed bear becoming an ultimate irony as he destroys his best friends life.
However, there are moments where the audience can't help but wonder if Macfarlane is crazy or just plain weird as, like its inevitable TV companion Family Guy, his jokes are for a very specific sense of humor that cannot always deliver on a wide enough scale.
Nonetheless, give it a watch and it may well surprise you.
