Review of Ted 2 (2015) by Kendyl C — 01 Aug 2015
The year's most unnecessary sequel, just topping Magic Mike XXL, could've been an episode of Family Guy, American Dad, or a standalone straight-to-DVD release; it's hit-or-miss at best, even if the hits never cost a lung.
If Seth MacFarlane wants to be a filmmaker and receive millions of dollars behind his budget, why must we be submitted to the humor we were well-accompanied with since the debut of Family Guy: gay jokes, race jokes (both, of course, meant to be taken in stride since MacFarlane is a vocal liberal), and a lot of faux-shock value.
It's not at Adam Sandler's level of bottomless shame yet and Ted 2 isn't even an awful film, but it's disappointing nonetheless, which can often make a film worse than it really is.
