Review of Ted 2 (2015) by Alex M — 27 Sep 2015

Ted 2 is of course, the sequel to the highly successful first film, though this time they forgot to write a competent script and/or clever jokes and instead decided to make what is essentially a 2-hour, Family Guy episode, with almost no laughs to behold.

I was a fan of the first, Ted film, with reservations, as Seth McFarlane's humour has worn-out it's welcome for me, but this sequel doesn't even try and even rips off jokes that Family Guy has used in the past; it is that lazy.

Seth McFarlane's mo-cap performance of Ted and chemistry with Mark Wahlberg is still chuckle-worthy, but shifting the focus of the story onto Ted's plight doesn't work at all and Wahlberg is surprisingly side-lined and even looks bored at times.

Gone is Mila Kunis and in her stead is Amanda Seyfried who is easily the best part about this movie and was on the receiving end of the movie's best line! It's a "watchable" comedy with a few clever jokes and one funny cameo, but the movie as a whole doesn't gel and all of the non sequitur jokes literally make you feel as if you're watching a stitched-together, Family Guy episode and when they don't land.
