Review of Ted 2 (2015) by Ohsnappage . — 19 Jun 2016
This raunchy lil sequel was suprisingly not that bad, sure it has it's absurd moments and the arch nemesis plays a minor role leading to a quick wrap up scenario.... but some of the humor had quite a bit of wit to it.
Even found parts to be memorable and just enjoyably funny. Dorn & Warburton at the comic convention... wish there was more of that (hysterical). There were a few inside jokes to McFarlane fans. Anybody else catch Peter Griffen battling the Chicken? But despite a few chuckles, the film runs longer than it should, with wasted moments.
The romance stuff was rediculously forced, the message of TED being treated as a real person was obnoxious. The film simple lacked any relatable sincerity that it tried way too hard to throw in the viewers face.
If the film played more to its strength and where it excelled at, the silly absurdness, of slapstick & witty humor, (which is its target audience) it would have been more enjoyable. Sadly it has its ups and downs, where you'll want to stay glued or walk away thinking of something more productive to do instead.
