Review of Tears of the Sun (2003) by Juuso R — 24 Sep 2012
Highly politicised movie, with a tema of American soldiers sent in to escort an American doctor (a horribly mis-cast Monica Belluci) from an African country that is about to explode into war at any moment. Said doctor, of course, refuses to leave without her charges ...
You can normally expect Bruce Willis to deliver the goods in any movie he is in; while this is not his worst, neither is it his best. I found it to be slow-moving, overly-sentimental and to rely too much on extranuous scenery shots. OK, the action scenes aren't half bad but, truth be told, are too few and far between to really engage any interest.
