Review of Tears of the Black Tiger (2000) by Lauren O — 14 Jul 2009

Destined to be a cult classic (if it isn't already), the movie pays homage to the old westerns while injecting a good bit of melodrama that seems to be so prevalent in a lot of Asian cinema.

Visually, it's a pretty unique movie. However, it's far too slow and predictable. I found myself bored about halfway through and it was a bit of a struggle to finish it. For a much better Asian western, check out "The Good, the Bad, and the Weird".
