Review of Team America: World Police (2004) by Jeremy S — 06 May 2010

If someone came to me a year before this film came out and said 'Fanci watching Thunderbirds on acid with guns?' I would have said what a stupid question like anyone else, but in this hypothetical world I would probably have declined. However, when Team America come from the sky, puppet mouths moving animatedly and started shooting terrorists with machine guns, I thought 'Hmm, thunderbirds on acid...genius.'.

South Park creators at their very crudest and obscene, but beneath that you see the political commentators they are, and very apt ones at that, however before you can focus on the metaphor of the characters being puppets... Susan Sarandon falls from Kim Jong Il's palace in North Korea and falls to the earth with a resounding splat... Fuck the metaphors.

So after watching it... 'Thunderbirds on acid... FUCK YEAH!'.
