Review of Team America: World Police (2004) by Erik B — 20 Jun 2010
Stone and Parker particular breed of humour is intended to disrupt, deconstruct, and push the boundaries of political correctness until their audience screams, "Uncle!" In this respect, Team America is an opus.
It's absolutely hysterical in all its rotten, vulgas, disgusting, hilarious glory. Underscoring all of this is a wicked sort of intelligence only the creators of South Park can offer, so that even though their ultimate conclusion on global affairs is, "It's all fucked up," the movie is strangely satsfying in a marionettes-doing-kama-sutra kind of way.
