Review of Team America: World Police (2004) by Jordan K — 24 Oct 2014
The creators of South Park have mastered parodying everything yet again, this time stabbing extreme patriotism and globally known terrorists in the style of marionettes.
Five eccentric Americans battle terrorism plots in a secret organization known as Team America. They must stop Kim Jong-il from befriending popular actors to join together to explode Earth, and along the way learn more about themselves.
The movie is hilarious and the jokes and songs work extremely well but both the characters and plot are noticably bland and weak. The main character is a struggling actor who tries to find himself, but that's not the first overused plot point of the film. Kim Jong-il kills it, though, so do a lot of the celebrities. Not bad, but could use work in general areas. Still funny as hell.
