Review of Team America: World Police (2004) by Zachary C — 19 Mar 2015
This movie isn't the funniest comedy ever, but it's still pretty funny. The things I loved most about this movie was the cheesy dialogue, the hilarious songs and best of all the fact that they were saying something really bad about america and nobody seemed to notice.
One thing that made this movie so funny was that when it came to what they were saying, they took everything that they said so seriously that I couldn't help but laugh at how cheesy the lines were.
(you'll get what I mean when you see the movie.) One thing I actually really liked about the movie was the fact that more than once I forgot that there were puppets instead of people. And that was impressive in and of itself.
But the thing that I loved the most about this movie (I might be reading too much into it) was how this movie seemed to say that when America tries to help we tend to do more bad than good while we're saving the day.
Like in more than one scene Team America is the responsible party for blowing up some sort of world renowned monument. Like when they were in Paris they shot a bazooka at a terrorist and missed and hit the Eiffel Tower.
And then the guy who shot the bazooka said "Dammit I missed!". I don't know that's what I got from it anyway. I don't really like the message, but I found some message in it.
