Review of Teaching Mrs. Tingle (1999) by Paul P — 22 Dec 2008
From the guy who gave us Dawsons Creek starring Joey from Dawsons Creek, playing essentially the same character.
The story itself could have been pretty dark and engaging, instead the PG13 route is taken and what you get as a result is pretty benign.
The writing is passable and the acting is ok in places, Katie is very cute as per normal and the other 2 kids were pretty much forgetable. As for Helen Mirren, meh... To see her at her frosty best, check out Prime Suspect. Even the great Jeffrey Tambor is wasted here and that bums me out.
Not a great deal to recommend here.
