Review of Taxidermia (2006) by Alex K — 08 Feb 2010
Alas, I finally got to watch this goddamn movie, and made the mistake of trying to eat a breakfast burrito at the same time.
Taxidermia tells the story of 3 generations of Hungarians, living through World War 2, then the Cold War, then in modern times. Don't get it twisted though, this is not a war movie. This can be considered a comedy at its absolute blackest.
The cinematography by Gergely Trocsanyi is truly brilliant, and should be viewed, but by people with strong stomachs. Yet another movie, that I don't think will catch on here in the States, which is kind of depressing, cause it really is a great picture.
