Review of Taxi to the Dark Side (2008) by Jared C — 26 Feb 2008
A very powerful, important documentary. Not only an indictment of the American government, but basically a portrait of how easily it is for humans to be persuaded to go to this 'dark side.' Listening to some of the subjects talk about how they did it because it was what they were told to do is disturbing because of the mentality over there.
Little facts like 30 some percent of Americans still believing torture was okay to use even after the Abu Ghraib make me worry about where this society is going. This documentary was full of effective facts like this one, all grounded in a rather emotional story of a wrongly imprisoned-tortured-killed man.
