Review of Taxi to the Dark Side (2008) by Allan T — 29 Feb 2008
Powerful, well-researched, moving. Deserves its Oscar win and then some. Starts as an examination into the murder of an innocent Afghan taxi driver by the U.S. Army then delves into the systematic torture of so-called terrorists at the hands of the army and the Bush administration.
Filmmaker interviews American soldiers convicted of torturing prisoners and extensive clips of Rumsfeld, Tommy Franks et al who cleary lie about allowing torture. The Bush administration will finish in January 2009, but films such as this will haunt the American conscience for years to come.
