Review of Taxi to the Dark Side (2008) by Jose P — 13 Mar 2008
Well composed, if predictable, documentary. Points out some of the war crimes committed by the Bush administration over the past few years, focusing in particular on a taxi driver that was killed in torture. Very one sided, and tries to be one of those "You HAVE to see this" type movies. The editing was great; Gibney throws in archive TV footage of press conferences, etc, right at the right moment to just sort of floor you given what you're seeing. It's up on google video, so if you have an hour and a half to enlighten yourself with, go check it out.
On a side note, I don't think it deserved the academy award for best documentary over The King Of Kong, as this film is nowhere near as creative, endearing or entertaining as that one.
