Review of Taxi to the Dark Side (2008) by Jeff A — 18 Nov 2008
A movie that everyone and anyone should watch, no matter what your party affiliation. Quite disturbing images in both print and video format that show what we as a nation are capable of when unchecked with what we are doing.
I understand what we did and are doing but am not sure if it is the answer. There are many moments in this movie that stick out. Two in particular are 1) Colin Powell reportedly saying he has never felt more embarrassed in his career than after going to the UN to ask for help after showing we had "proof" that Irag had WMDs and 2) when Pres.
Bush is talking about a rule in the Geneva Convention logs and comments, "Well, that, that's kind of vague." That line blew me away. Our constitution says we have the right to bear arms but I can't go out and purchase a RPG for my home and say, "well the 2nd amendment is kind of vague.
I am just trying to protect my home." Watch this movie...it is important to do so, plus it was the winner of the Academy Award for Best Documentary and is brought to you by the same guy who directed Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, which is another movie worth watching if you have never seen it.
