Review of Taxi to the Dark Side (2008) by Anonymous User — 29 Sep 2008
A much more effective, incendiary attack on the Bush Administration than, say, Fahrenheit 9/11. The movie goes into very graphic detail on the treatment of post-9/11 detainees, and the whole situation is a very disturbing, dehumanizing mess. It also delves into the mindsets of the people who are supposed to handle the interrogating professionally as they break down and treat their prisoners as nothing more important than insects, as if the Milgram experiments have come to life.
It's one of the few movies from last year I can consider culturally significant, as it not only dissects this ordeal in a political level but also as a exploration into the morbid, darker side of humanity.
