Review of Taxi Driver (1976) by Janoy F — 20 Jan 2013
Breathtaking simply a master piece, De Niro at his Prime could not have asked for more.. A captivating sequence developed beautifully from start to finish encapsulating the life and breathe of the 1970's violent criminal outbreaks.
The depth of De Niro's character was fascinating to watch as he evolved into a machine in a bid to clean up the streets of New York in the only way he knew how stumbling along the way to a shocking and violent climax.
The dilemma the character faced faced of choosing the right path to justice was symbolic of the age of vigilante that was birthed by the turbulent Vietnam era... The soundtrack was so smooth gelling seamlessly with the plot and at times told a story all by itself.
Overall a classic film stunning in many ways with too many angles to just view to catch at first glance... Jody Foster, Cybill Shepherd, Intelligent Stunning...
