Review of Taxi Driver (1954) by Brian L — 05 Apr 2013

"Taxi Driver" is my second favorite movie of all-time! Beautifully crafted film. This is the film that got Martin Scorsese, my favorite director, his first really recognition, yet he didn't get nominated for an Oscar! WHY? What I love about the film is the character of Travis Bickle, a lonely taxi driver, whom we feel sorry for at first, but as the film progresses, we watch him slowly go down the road of insanity.

I think the acting is great. I think Robert De Niro and Jodie Foster should how won the Oscars that they were nominated for. Along with the amazing scores by late Bernard Herrmann. As I've said, "Taxi Driver" is my second favorite film of all-time!
