I don't know the ways in which this film has affected the culture of it's viewers, may be because I am not an American, so I will never understand for those reasons. As a film, Taxi Driver benefits from a stellar performance from Robert De Niro. It's slow paced for the first 30 minutes, it is a strong insight about the vices of the nation that it's inhabitants loathe about and watching it from that time could have been more appropriate as we know for sure that the film did not change the life of the people.
