Review of Taxi Driver (1954) by Sam C — 08 Mar 2016
Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver is a phenomenal film that will always be known as one of the best films ever made in the history of cinema. What makes this movie so incredible is that everything is done perfectly from Scorsese's magnificent directing to Robert De Niro's jaw dropping performance.
Taxi Driver's story is just truly stunning, it's a story about a mentally unstable Vietnam vet and it's just told in an incredible way due to Paul Schrader's brilliant script and Scorsese's marvelous directing.
What makes Schrader's script one of the best written scripts in the history of cinema is that it has an excellent story, incredibly written dialogue, and characters that the audience actually care about and characters that you see change over time.
Scorsese does a ravishing job at directing this movie and truly does add something incredible to every movie he does. The cast in this movie is spectacular but the best performance by far is Robert De Niro as Travis Bickle.
De Niro pulls of a fantastic performance because he became this mentally unstable war vet and it's just spectacular to watch. The cinematography is beautiful and every shot is great to look at and it goes perfectly with Bernard Herrmann's amazing score.
Overall Taxi Driver is a cinematic masterpiece that must be seen by all film lovers.
