Review of Taxi (2015) by John E — 27 Jan 2009
Taxi was simplistic, cheesy and would have been funnier had the laughs not been so few and far between. The writing of this movie was absolutely atrocious. The story stunk of predictability.
Its humor lacked certain elements that made it seem strained. It was as if trying to squeeze too many jokes out of a situation, instead of letting it flow. This poor script was only highlighted by the poor acting done by its cast.
The director, Tim Story (Barbershop), should have been able to notice that the chemistry between Queen Latifah (Chicago) and Jimmy Fallon (Feverpitch) seemed somewhat forced, as it did with most of the characters that appeared on screen.
This film is nothing better than a time filler to a boring afternoon that would never seem to end otherwise. .
