I don't know what magic happened at Disney in the 1990's but boy I wish it would return! The 1990's was a brilliant decade for Disney and film fans alike! Tarzan was one of the classic films from nearer the end of the 1990's and at the time it was released it was the most expensive animated film ever!

Why is this film such a masterpiece? Well let's start with the soundtrack to the film. It is possibly one of the most brilliant soundtracks in film history, it's definitely in my top ten anyway. Phil Collins really has done himself proud the songs are gonna stay in my head for a long time.

When I was doing research about this film (I do research with every film I watch) I found out that the backgrounds were CGI yet they look like they were done by a brush it's a shame Disney don't still use this technique because let's be the honest the current bundle of animation films they are throwing out for us to watch don't have the same Disney magic to them, if you get what I mean they are missing something that the Disney films before 2000 had.

Anyway back to the film if you are gonna watch this film don't expect it to stick to the source material because Disney films rarely do adult themes and unhappy endings rarely make it into a Disney movie this really is a film that uses the characters not the plot but that doesn't actually matter because no matter your age you are gonna like this film!

My favourite character is Tarzans best friend who is voiced by the lovely Rosie O'Donnel. Tony Goldwyn is perfect for the voice of Tarzan and his face is a little like Tarzans. The rest of the cast is great too but I will say the villain isn't Disneys best villain I was hoping for something more Gaston from Beauty and the Beast but I can over a little thing like that just because the rest of the film is so great.
