You stay away from me...like a very good, wild man.

A baby washes up on the shores of the jungle in a boat with few survivors. Somehow, the survivors appear to have been eaten by a leopard or wild animal but the baby survives. A group of guerillas find the baby and raise him as their own. As a young man, he will need to find a niche in the jungle. Just as he starts to get settled in, he comes across a group of explorers with a beautiful young lady named Jane...

"Can I go?".

"You could if you could keep up, but you can't keep up.".

Chris Buck, director of Frozen, Surf's Up, and episodes of the television series Family Dog, delivers Tarzan. The storyline for this picture is actually very well done and reminded me of a modern Jungle Book (it was almost that good). I felt the animation was solid, the voices were pretty well selected, and the action was awesome. The voices include Glenn Close, Minnie Driver, Brian Blessed, Tony Goldwyn, Lance Henricksen, and Nigel Hawthorne.

"How'd you know it was me?".

"I'm your mother. I know everything. Now, where have you been?".

"I thought you knew everything.".

Tarzan is a movie my daughter and I watched several times about a week ago (currently on Netflix). She loved it, especially all of the jungle scenes and animals (she calls it the jungle movie). I found the film better than I anticipated. This isn't an all time great Disney movie but it is a better than average addition to the genre. This is borderline worth adding to your child's DVD collection.

"I am flying!".

Grade: B.
