Review of Tarnation (2003) by Terror A — 04 Jul 2007
An remarkable documentary by first-time director Jonathan Caouette, who uses his own unusual life, his mentally unstable mother and his dysfunctional family for the basis for his film but using archival photos, phone messages and video footage that he had saved since he was a kid.
This is an emotionally honest and raw film that is at times can be insightful, funny, strange, confronting and even moving. A brilliant achievement in low budget filmmaking that every one needs to should see.
Highly recommended!
