Review of Tarnation (2003) by Jenna O — 29 May 2008
Jonathan Caouette?s documentary is about his childhood in Texas and his weird, weird family. The film is not like anything I have ever seen before. It shows a lot of way-out stuff and the most shocking thing about it is its realness.
It contains footage from what I think is more than nineteen years and Caouette did some amazing job editing it. The soundtrack is also brilliant, thumbs-up. Tarnation is really queer in more ways than one and I suspect you either love it or hate it.
I definitely loved it. Watch the trailer and if it makes you curious, watch the movie. .
