Review of Taps (1981) by Amy M — 08 Jun 2007
Some causes are worth dying for, at least that's what the cadets at Bunker Hill Academy thought. After his brilliant Oscar winning performance in "Ordinary People", Timothy Hutton gives an equally moving performance as the cadet commander not willing to have his school torn down after a tragedy involving their superintendant, played by the late great George C. Scott. Also giving wonderful and sometimes powerful supporting roles, Young Sean Penn and Tom Cruise as well as vetern actor Ronny Cox, who later would be remembered for "Robocop" as National Guard Colonel Kerby, who has a duty of his own.
Powerful, Emotional, about Honor and how sometimes, it can be mistaken.
