Review of Tape (2001) by Tim D — 06 Jun 2007
I'm continuously struck by the simplicity - and intensity - of this film. Much of the dialogue was clearly ad-libed, but rather than making it awkward, it gave the story an intimate, very real flow.
The story itself was extremely compelling and had me switching alliances every few minutes. The camera work added to the mixed signals and miscommunications of the characters - whipping back and forth from one character to the next, following the rapid-fire dialogue.
All in all a masterful film with a great indie feel blessed with three insanely talented actors.
