Review of Tape (2001) by Crystal M — 23 Jun 2008
It was interesting from a film maker pov because it was so very minimalist. People talking in real time in one room without a musical score or anything. I mean, it's been done ... but it's usually an interesting departure from the standard movies.
I didn't think the story itself was attention holding enough for almost an hour and a half but the acting - which was just this side of uncomfortable enough to make you forget that it's fictional - held it together enough to make me want to know how it would end.
I think this is one of those where if you like that kind of thing, totally see it. But, if you don't, then this probably won't hold your attention either.
