Review of Tank Girl (1995) by Michael S — 03 Sep 2010

This movie is campy as hell. It's over the top, filled with visual insanity and it's like what happens when you film ADD!

Yet, somehow, I have a fondness for this movie that runs deep. When it works, it works well, and when it fails, it is awesome. In the category of cult classics, this should be pretty far up there.

By no means is this a good movie. It has plot holes the size of Texas, and Lori Petty acts so over the top, it borders annoying as hell. Still, it's a hoot, and that's great.

If nothing else, this movie introduced me to Naomi Watts, so that's good.

I do feel that, in many ways, this movie is a head of it's time. Somehow, in the era of Kick Ass and Scott Pilgrim, this feels like it could find a home with these types of films.
