Review of Tango & Cash (1989) by Matt R — 09 Feb 2009
I love eighties movies, and several years ago I set out to drink from the well of that decade's classics as many times as I could. Of course, the cream always rises to the top, and so to my delight I found buckets of rich cream coming up.
It would appear, however, that I've exhausted the creamy head of this ambrosia and have now hit the dregs. Despite the star power of this film, it was entirely mediocre. This was essentially a hyped-up A-Team episode, replete with super-vehicles, explosions, bad guys with pony tails, and wrongful accusations.
The buddy-cop genre has produced some real stinkers, and this one - while laughable and full of eighties cheese, is a big fat slice of smelly Denmark Havarti.
