Review of Tangled (2010) by Allison K — 21 Jan 2014

For some weird reason, when I first saw this movie I left the theatre feeling extremely bored and annoyed with what I had just seen. I'm still not sure why. I had to watch it a second time to get that I was just being a pain and the movie is pretty good! It has got a lot of fun visual elements that keep it engaging, and the characters are extremely likeable.

However, I think what makes it weaker than some older Disney gems is that the story is a little cliched, and it's something that's been done before. The story lacked the "oomph" needed to drive it home.

The songs, although entertaining and singable, didn't seem as creative as they have been in the past. Anywho, it's definitely a fun movie, but it's not a Disney masterpiece in my opinion.
