Review of Tangled (2010) by Zane G — 09 Apr 2013

Tangled is a great way at retelling a classic story.

After receiving the healing powers from a magical flower, the baby Princess Rapunzel is kidnapped from the palace in the middle of the night by Mother Gothel. Mother Gothel knows that the flower's magical powers are now growing within the golden hair of Rapunzel, and to stay young, she must lock Rapunzel in her hidden tower. Rapunzel is now a teenager and her hair has grown to a length of 70-feet. The beautiful Rapunzel has been in the tower her entire life, and she is curious of the outside world. One day, the bandit Flynn Ryder scales the tower and is taken captive by Rapunzel. Rapunzel strikes a deal with the charming thief to act as her guide to travel to the place where the floating lights come from that she has seen every year on her birthday. Rapunzel is about to have the most exciting and magnificent journey of her life.

Disney is known for its true magic. The Lion King, Aladdin and Peter Pan all are one of the few Disney movie that are completely remarkable. Tangled on the other hand is literally one of the best movies I've ever seen. Of course me being 16, people my age aren't supposed to like movies like this, but if you really give this movie a chance your gonna really enjoy it. This being an animation movie, the creativity and the look of this movie is spectacular. I'm really surprised this isn't a Disney Pixar movie. From the dialogue, to the premise, the animation and the characters, this is one of the most stunning movies I've seen especially the fact that it's animated.

Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi maybe be voicing their characters but I feel like they both had a very strong connection through the film. Mandy Moore was just amazing and her voice fits perfectly playing Rapunzel. Zachary Levi is playing Flynn Rider and boy was he great. He was charming, clever and all out just a great character. From the rest of the cast they all were fantastic.

In the end Tangled is an amazing movie. The script is great, the story is perfect, the dialogue is awesome and the visuals are out of this world.
