Review of Tangled (2001) by Brent W — 31 Dec 2013
My initial mental state was positive, read some reviews, most of my friends enjoy their cinematic experience. Rapunzel was a stronger female role than many past disney princesses. The songs flowed with the movie, but it felt familiar to every new disney movie (needs stronger music score).
many parts of the movie felt like "filler" to create the proper movie time length. The writing was meant for a young audience. There were no clever retorts, nor situational humor, nor complex emotional development.
Characters were disconnected from reality. The build, climax, and resolution seemed to be stuffed into the last portion of the movie (aside from the 5min intro). Needless to say I was disappointed. If you enter with a high exception, I would advise not to see this movie.
