The "transgender prostitute comedy shot on an iPhone" is a revelation. Director Sean Baker keeps the stakes low and succeeds in presenting a dynamic and riotously funny comedy about two women roaming the streets of L.
A. just trying to survive. I had low expectations for this film but found myself completely engrossed in both the humanity and tragedy of the story.
