Review of Tammy (2014) by Meredith W — 06 Dec 2014
Tammy (Melissa McCarthy) is a woman on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Her clunker car is totalled, her husband is cheating on her and her boss fires her after being late. She escapes town with her grandmother Pearl on a road trip to anywhere.
It's another 'typical' Melissa McCarthy movie, however, this time with the added bonus of Susan Sarandon as a drunken grandmother. But this is also its downfall as it can't seem to decide on the type of movie it wants to be - over-the-top comedy or poignant character study.
