Review of Tammy (2014) by Timothy N — 08 Jan 2015
The presence of Mark Duplass only serves to remind the audience of this film's intention to be a credible indie comedy. The initial opening calamity is a sequence of dumb, over played moments and McCarthy's previously oscar-nominated (WTF?) obnoxiousness is just that.
Even Sarandon is a joke in this. Uncomfortable, disjointed and cringe inducing attempt at a cathartic comedy drama. Whatever your stance on McCarthy as an actress, she's not at all succrssful as a writer.
