Review of Tamara Drewe (2010) by Timothy M — 09 Feb 2011
The best performance so far from Brit indie darling Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace, Clash of the Titans, The Disappearance of Alice Creed), Tamara Drewe succeeds via her charismatic performance. After a shocking nose job, Drewe returns to her hometown of wannabe writers and sparks love & lust in the hearts of three sad fellows: Little Drummer Boy Rocker Dominic Cooper, Sell-Out Novelist Roger Allam, and Rough Farm Boy Luke Evans.
The film never quite reaches levels of brilliance but it is an enjoyable ride through oddball British country. VF.
