The problem with Tamara Drewe is that it should never have been made into a film. The characters are filmsy, the main character even more so. The plot, which would have been a delightful read as a book, does plod along so.
The worst part is while none of the characters are particularly nice, and nobody says they should, none of them are particularly bad assed either. Which means you are stuck with watery. Watch it on cable if it happens to come along.
But don't go out of your way.
