Review of Tamara Drewe (2010) by Benjamin — 13 Jun 2011
15.6.2011.
A delightful comedy with genuinely warm vibes. The cast and characters are good - as they should because the film relies on them - and Gemma Arterton can carry a leading role. The real surprise, however, is Jessica Barden, who pretty much steals the show: a sprightly teenager whom I've never seen before. The boredom of the small town makes us understand the actions of its inhabitants: they have nothing else to do. It's only human nature, after all.
