Review of Tamara Drewe (2010) by Sandy K — 06 May 2011
I haven't read the graphic novel on which this was based, but found the characters intriguing. The last act had some surprises but ultimately I cared less about the main character, Tamara, than the wife of the self-centered, chronically philandering author.
Would she finally dump him and find love with the American writer who is clearly smitten with her? The resolution had some unexpected twists. And the subplot of the bored teenage girls and their flirtation with petty crimes (and their major-league crush on a celebrity drummer) was entertaining.
