Review of Tamara (2005) by Rafael C — 23 Oct 2009
A bad film all around, but enjoyable none the less. Lions Gate Films is well known for taking independent films, and I believe this to be one of those films. The plot is something to be wished for, the idea behind a girl who has a crush and is ultimately humiliated over occurences involving fellow students which eventually leads to her either dead or in a coma.
The rest of the film follows a cookie cutter basis and you can see how the film is going to end. But aside from it's many plot holes and many bad writing moments, it's not bad all through out.
There are some imaginitive moments through out with killing people off, and at one point I honestly didn't see one of them coming. But by the end it dissolves because of it's 'see it coming a mile away' ending.
However, I can not hate a movie entirely for it's ending, and this movie still holds some pretty cool scenes that deserve to given a chance. The acting is mediocre most of the time and more times often than you can count you feel the character's could be a bit more resourcful.
If you're in the mood for a bad horror film, give it a shot. Enjoy!
