OK: that was a pretty strange film.
While the only other race-car type film I can think of comparing it to is Tom Cruise's 'Days of Thunder', this is a comedy rather than a drama. It's has pretty much a by-the-numbers plot (race car driver, life careers out of control, before the inevitable big come-back race - actually, now I think of it, a bit like Pixar's 'Cars'), but never really raised a laugh.
Maybe NASCAR is just too American for Northern Irish tastes?
