Review of Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006) by Matt M — 02 Jan 2014

Adam McKay and Will Ferrell teamed up again after the success of Anchorman in a similar comedy set on the Nascar racetracks. The titular Ricky Bobby is a cocky, rude and dumb Nascar champion whose reputation is threatened in his rivalry with the openly gay French driver played by a show stealing Sacha Baron Cohen.

This film lacks the wit and apart from a few scenes that will admittedly have people's sides splitting from laughing, Talladega Night's script is far too underwhelming. This film certainly has less charisma than anchorman and it ends up feeling like the ordinary expensive comedy vehicle.
