Review of Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006) by Anna B — 05 May 2015

Not as funny as Anchorman, and the non-comedy parts tend to drag (I never cared for a moment about the characters or the plot). Also the female characters are really poorly written. Bibb was funny at first, but her character quickly lapsed into cliché played straight and her final scene with Amy Adams was downright offensive, unless I missed some brilliant satirical undertone.

Overall it's a classic second movie after unexpected success: bloated, messy, overconfident. But I did laugh, and I can forgive a lot of sins for that.
