Review of Talk to Me (2007) by Emily E — 17 Nov 2008
Talk to me is simply one of the most moving and poignant films of the year. It has a great cast of Don Cheadle (Hotel Rawanda, Oceans 11 and Traffic), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Amistad, The Inside Man and Dirty Pretty Things), a great story and a gifted director, Kassi Lemmons (Daughters in the Dust).
It's a biopic about Washington, D.C. radio personality Ralph Waldo "Petey" Greene, played by Cheadle. Green is an ex-con vict who knows he is destined to better things than mop floors and spend time incarcerated. Set in the 1960s, Lemmons beautifully captures the setting of D.C. in the sixties and takes us to the eighties and the spirit of the time.s It's a must see and frankly I loved it.
