Review of Talk to Me (2007) by Michael O — 31 Jan 2008
Talk to Me was a a pretty enjoyable film... amazing adaptation of the real life story of Petey Greene. I also really dug all the amazing music in this film that portrayed correctly to the decade. I really like performances by Chiwetel Ejiofor (Children of Men) as Dewey Hughes and Don Cheadle (Reign Over Me) as Ralph Waldo 'Petey' Green.
True there was kind of a sense that I'm not too sure what direction director, Kasi Lemmons was aiming for, whether the film was suppose to be a comedy or a drama, I guess you aren't suppose to tell with having both Cedric the Entertainer and Martin Sheen in your film.
Overall this wasn't that bad of a film the film's soundtrack made up for the slight flaws from the film's direction..
