Review of Talk to Me (1996) by Heath H — 01 Mar 2008
What you have here is two great modern actors playing off of each other with charisma and chemistry. I think getting a hand shake from Don Cheadle would possible cause my hand to crumble and head to explode.
The guy has so much talent that its almost sad to see someone try and compete with him on screen. But Chiwetel Ejiofor was up to the challenge and he also, proved he has much to give to the world of cinema.
I only believe these actors will rise higher and higher in respectability in the world of cinema as the years come and pass. As far as the film goes, this is a somewhat typical- but all the while inspiring and intriguing tale of a character who, if not for this film, I would have never heard of: Petey Greene.
I only found fault with the films stereotypical structuring in plot devices. If you've seen a reasonable amount of films, you will be able to predict the way the film will proceed half-way through.
All-the-same, a good film to waste some time on if you are interested.
