Review of Talk to Me (1996) by Jaimie S — 31 Mar 2008
Our history is full of era defining figures, and Petey Greene was no different. The story is part comedy, mostly drama, and all attitude and soul, and it owes a great deal of debt to the performance of Don Cheadle in another career defining role.
The film does slow drastically in the final third but, much like it's star, it has a lot to say and does it effectively. Ejiofor turns in a great supporting role, but is outshone by Cheadle scene for scene, and toward the end of the film attempts a character that is beyond his abilities.
