Review of Talk to Her (2002) by Sam A — 24 Jul 2008
Upon second viewing, Hable con ella is one of the most beautiful, heartbreaking, wonderful films I've ever viewed. So lush and gorgeous, every bit of the film, from Caetano Veloso singing "Cucurrucucu Paloma", to Pedro Almodovar's direction, who is one of the very best directors, all of his films have a certain air which can't be touched by any other director.
The best films come out of countries other than the United States. It's sad to think people like Talladega Nights: Legend of Ricky Bobby, and they will never see a film as touching as this, as purposeful.
Pedro Almodovar really does make some of the best movies, he's just amazing.
